8-Layer Salad

  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, cored and cut into pieces
  • 1 cucumber, seeded and sliced
  • 1 cup frozen peas, rinsed and drained
  • 1 1/2 cups celery, thinly sliced
  • 1 red onion or 4 scallions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 170g (6 ounces) sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 100g (3.5oz) HORMEL® Real Bacon Bits, Pieces or Crumble
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped (optional)
  • 1.Layer first 5 ingredients, one at a time, in a large glass bowl; don’t mix the ingredients.
  • 2.In another bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sour cream and sugar. Pour mixture over salad.
  • 3.Layer cheese, HORMEL® Real Bacon Bits, Pieces or Crumble and egg, if desired, over dressing.
